- Outpatient Family Medicine Physician
Description
This is a full-time, dual-role position combining comprehensive, evidence-based outpatient pediatric/family medicine with some newborn nursery care in a local hospital setting. The ideal candidate will manage a patient panel from birth through young adulthood while fostering strong patient-parent partnerships, with a focus on preventative care and seamless transitions from pediatric care into adult care.
Requirements
Outpatient Care: Provide primary, preventative, and sick care for infants, children, and adolescents, including well-child visits, vaccinations, and chronic condition management.
Newborn Rounding: Perform morning rounds on newborns in the hospital’s Mother-Baby Unit when on call, covering exams, discharge planning, and parent education.
Clinical Duties: Review prenatal records to identify risks, perform newborn assessments, and initiate care plans.
Communication: Act as a primary liaison between hospital nursing staff, specialists, and parents to coordinate care.
Documentation & Call: Maintain accurate, timely Electronic Medical Records and participate in a shared call rotation for nursery coverage
